St. Helena is the heart of Napa Valley. About 5000 residents live here and it is the most expensive and desirable town to live in in Napa Valley. There are a handful of good schools, good Recreation program with a variety of sports for the kids, nice athletic fields and new swimming pool at the high school. It has a chic Main Street with high end designer shops, as well as Model Bakery, Woodhouse Chocolates and a great local Steve’s Hardware store. The Cameo Cinema is a local favorite movie theater. St. Helena is also known for its great food and atmosphere with a variety of exceptional restaurants. Meadowood Country Club and Resort in St. Helena has beautiful grounds, pool, tennis courts, 9 hole golf course, croquet, and a Michelin 3-star Restaurant. St. Helena Hospital is a well-known hospital for joint replacements, the Adventist Heart Institute, the Cancer Center, no more than 10 minute wait ER, and below is a link to an NBC story about excellent patient care at St. Helena Hospital. And I highly recommend St. Helena Montessori School which is a private school on 10 acres for children 3 years old through 8th/9th grade. St. Helena also has a Farmer’s Market at Crane Park, in the parking lot between the tennis & bocce courts and the playground on Fridays from 7:30 AM to 12 noon from May through October.
