When asked where should we stay in Napa Valley, it depends on your focus for the visit and your budget. If you could can afford to stay up valley (Calistoga, St. Helena, Yountville) I think the grounds and the spas are exceptional. But if you want or need to be in the heart of Napa, there are a few good options downtown Napa. I especially love Solage, Meadowood, Calistoga Ranch, and Auberge. And also, for a reasonable hotel/spa in Yountville, I think the Villagio is very nice. This website below is very good to use for pricing and availability for nice hotels in Napa Valley.

If I were visiting Sonoma County on vacation, I would want to stay either in Healdsburg at the Healdsburg Hotel or at Sonoma Mission Inn which has a fabulous spa, pool and restaurant, at the Kenwood Inn or a B & B in Glen Ellen – there are a few to choose from and they are quaint and nice if you can walk down to the Main Street.
